Recurring workshops and seminars: one event per date, attendance per session, and no cut of your ticket money.
Publish each workshop date as its own event. Free sessions take registrations on WebMobi; for paid ones, the event’s button sends people to your own ticketing page. Then check people in, add walk-ins and export who came.

What it is
If you run workshops for a living — a monthly data-analysis class, a quarterly leadership seminar, a series of hands-on sessions in different cities — you repeat the same cycle: publish a date, take bookings, check people in, and keep a record of who attended. WebMobi runs that cycle one event at a time, and charges you per participant rather than per ticket sold.
WebMobi does not take ticket payments. A free session registers people on WebMobi; a paid one keeps selling wherever you sell today, and WebMobi runs everything around the sale — the event page, the list of who is coming, the door and the attendance record. This page covers what WebMobi costs, how free and paid dates are set up, the workshop day itself, and the limits a training business should know before it commits.
WebMobi Event App Builder · Build and launch your event app yourself.
WebMobi Event App Builder is a self-service event app builder that helps conference organizers, associations, agencies and event teams create and launch branded event apps — with registration, check-in (including offline check-in and walk-ins), session attendance, agenda, speakers and exhibitors in one platform.
What WebMobi costs a training provider
We count participants, not events. A participant is one person registering for one event, so someone who books four of your workshops in a year counts four times. There are two ways to buy, and they suit different calendars.
| If you… | Consider |
|---|---|
| run an occasional workshop | A one-off event pass, bought once for one date: Event Lite at $49 for up to 49 participants, or Event Starter at $99 for up to 99. |
| run workshops every week or month | A plan — Creator, Starter or Growth — whose yearly participant allowance covers every date together. Creator starts at $19 a month. |
| want to start without paying | The Free plan, which includes 50 participants a year. |
We take 0% of your ticket revenue. Always. Your customers pay you directly, through your own payment provider. The money never passes through WebMobi, so there is nothing for us to take a percentage of — on any plan, including Free. Every figure is on the pricing page.
Free sessions and paid sessions
Free sessions: registration on WebMobi
When a session is free, people register on the event’s own page with their first name, last name and email; phone, organization and dietary requirements are optional. Each registration appears on the event’s list with its own QR code, sent in the confirmation email once emails are switched on for the event. A new event sends nothing until you switch them on, so do it before you share the link — there is no resend button for anyone who registered while emails were off.
Paid sessions: your own ticketing page
If a workshop is paid, keep selling where you already sell — your own booking site or the ticketing service you use — and point the event at it. In the event’s Settings, on the Registration tab, paste the page into External ticketing link. The event page’s button then reads Get tickets and opens your page in a new tab. Leave the field empty and people register on WebMobi instead.
Bookings made on your page do not flow back into WebMobi, so the buyers reach your attendee list by import:
- When sales close, export the buyer list from your ticketing system as a .csv or .xlsx file.
- In the event, open Attendees → Import and map your columns. First name, last name and email are required; phone, company and your booking reference, as an external ID, are optional.
- Check the valid rows, warnings and errors, then import. Every buyer gets a registration and a QR code; the import itself emails nobody.
- A late booking? Import the newest export again on the morning. Buyers already on the list are skipped by email, so only the new ones are added.
Cancellations run the other way. An import never removes anyone, so a buyer who cancels with your ticketing provider stays on the WebMobi list until you remove them on screen.
Running a series, not a single date
Make each workshop date its own event. That keeps each date’s bookings, check-ins and attendance file apart, gives each date an address of its own to share, and matches the way participants are counted.
- Agenda: export one date’s sessions to a spreadsheet and import them into the next event. The export writes wall-clock times in the event’s time zone and uses the headings the importer reads, so rooms and trainers come across without sessions shifting by hours.
- Trainers: import them as speakers, keyed on email. A trainer who teaches several dates is recognised by the same email each time, and their profile is updated from the file.
- Addresses: renaming a date never changes its web address, so links already shared keep working; if you do change the address, the old one keeps forwarding.
- Emails and links: switch emails on for each new event before you share it, and for a paid date paste that date’s own ticketing page — each event carries its own link.
The workshop day
At a small workshop the trainer often runs the door. Open the event’s Check-In page on a phone or a laptop and scan each attendee’s QR code, or check them in by name, email or registration number — the usual route for buyers you imported, who were not emailed a code by the import. Someone who turns up without booking can be added as a walk-in and checked in in one step. WebMobi takes no payment at the desk, so anyone who should pay does so through your own ticketing.
The Attended figure at the top of the Check-In page rises as people arrive, and a repeat scan of someone already inside is recorded without being counted twice — so the figure you read at ten past nine is the number of people who have arrived, each counted once.
Theory in the morning, lab in the afternoon
Many workshops have parts that not everyone stays for. Make each part a session, and check people into each one: on the web Check-In page, choose it under Session before scanning; in the WebMobi app, tap Scanning into and pick it. A session check-in counts the person as attended for the day as well, so you do not need a separate scan at the front door.
Use In only at a session door when arrivals are all you need. Use In / Out when leaving times matter — a badge already inside is then scanned out — and the record shows when each person left the lab. Someone who steps out and returns adds a visit but is still one attendee. Read the session name on screen after every break: a check-in made into the wrong part of the day cannot be moved afterwards.
Who attended, for your records
Training providers are often asked to confirm attendance — by an employer paying for a place, or by the participant for their own records. Export List on the Check-In page gives every registration with Attended (Yes or No) and the time of first check-in, in the event’s time zone, as a CSV file. The Analytics export adds each session’s attendees with in and out times, one row per visit.
Export once the last phone has synced, because each file is a snapshot. Keep the files per date and you have a running record of the whole series.
Try a new format before you announce it
Launching a new workshop is a good moment for a rehearsal. Publish the first date as Test rather than Live: it carries a TEST EVENT banner, takes up to 25 registrations, and its registrations and check-ins can be deleted. Register a few colleagues, run the door, read the attendance export, and fix what looks wrong. Going live is a separate, confirmed step that asks whether to keep or delete the test registrations, and it cannot be reversed.
What it does not do
Written down here so you find out now, not on event day.
WebMobi does not take ticket payments
A paid workshop is sold on your own ticketing page, and the event’s button links there. The money never passes through WebMobi.
Bookings do not sync back
Buyers from your ticketing page reach WebMobi only when you import them, and cancellations there are not removed here until you remove them on screen.
No payment at the door
A walk-in is registered and checked in; WebMobi takes no payment for it.
Imported buyers are not emailed a code
The attendee import sends no email, so imported buyers are checked in by name.
No certificates of attendance
Attendance is exported as CSV; WebMobi does not issue certificates or course credits.
Each date is set up as its own event
There is no recurring schedule that creates every date at once. The agenda and trainer imports make each new date quick, not automatic.
Export List stops at 500
The attendee file holds up to 500 registrations; for a large seminar, compare its row count with Registered.
Read the step-by-step guides
The screens, labels and checks for each step are in the product guide on events.webmobi.com.
Session check-in, attendance and the analytics report
Recording who attended each session on the web and in the app, re-entry, and the attendance export.
Admin access, walk-ins, Check-in Console, dates and event URL
Who can run the desk, adding a walk-in on the web, and the History check-in audit.
Export attendance, check-in lists and your agenda to CSV
The three CSV exports, what each file contains, its time zone rules and its limits.
Build the program
Sessions, speakers and sponsors — by hand or by spreadsheet, and what an import never does.
Bulk import sessions, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and attendees
An import adds and updates but never deletes; matching, file limits, column mapping, the Event Info sheet.
Attendee QR codes: what they contain and how they are scanned
When a registration gets a code, how it is delivered and scanned — and that badge printing is not offered.
What each plan includes is on the pricing page.
Workshop and seminar questions
Does WebMobi take a commission on workshop tickets?
No. Your customers pay you directly, through your own payment provider. The money never passes through WebMobi, so there is nothing for us to take a percentage of — on any plan, including Free.
Can attendees pay for a workshop through WebMobi?
No. WebMobi does not take ticket payments. For a paid workshop, paste your own ticketing page into the event’s External ticketing link, and the event’s button sends people there.
Do bookings from our ticketing system appear in WebMobi?
Only when you import them. Export the buyer list from your ticketing system and import it as attendees; anyone already registered with the same email is skipped, so a newer export can be imported again safely.
How am I charged for a series of workshops?
By participant: one person registering for one event is one participant. Buy a one-off pass for an occasional date, or a plan whose yearly allowance covers the series. The figures are on the pricing page.
Can someone pay at the door?
No. WebMobi takes no payment at check-in. A walk-in is registered and checked in, and any payment is settled through your own provider.
Can I reuse one workshop’s agenda for the next date?
Yes. Export the sessions to a spreadsheet and import them into the next event: times stay in the event’s wall-clock time, and rooms and trainers come across.
Can I see who stayed for the afternoon session?
Yes. Make each part of the day a session and check people into each one. The Analytics page lists the attendees of every session with in and out times, and exports them as CSV.
Can I give attendees a certificate of attendance?
No. WebMobi exports who attended as a CSV file; it does not issue certificates.
Publish your next workshop date, and keep selling where you already sell.
Create the event, register free sessions on WebMobi or link paid ones to your own ticketing, and check people in on the day.
