Best event registration software 2026: 11 platforms, compared from their own pages.

Six questions every registration buyer asks — custom questions, ticket payments, discount codes, a waitlist, check-in at the door and check-in without a connection — answered for each platform from its own website, with the link and the date. WebMobi is scored by the same rule, and its gaps count as gaps.

66 sourced capability cells · no ratings, no reviews, no typed competitor prices

The short answer

On our six questions, Eventbrite, Humanitix and Ticket Tailor list every capability on their own pages, so if the registration itself — questions, codes, a queue when you sell out, payment and the door — is the whole job, start your shortlist there. Cvent and Whova publish no price at all, so expect a sales conversation before you see a number.

WebMobi ranks 11 of 11 by the same rule, with 4 of 12. It is the right choice when getting people in matters more than registration commerce: check-in by QR, by name and for walk-ins, offline in the app, session attendance and a record of who checked whom in — with no share taken of ticket revenue. It is the wrong choice today if you need custom registration questions, discount codes, a waitlist, or ticket payments taken inside the registration itself.

WebMobi Event App Builder · Build and launch your event app yourself.

WebMobi Event App Builder is a self-service event app builder that helps conference organizers, associations, agencies and event teams create and launch branded event apps — with registration, check-in (including offline check-in and walk-ins), session attendance, agenda, speakers and exhibitors in one platform.

How we compared

Each vendor was read on its own website on 2026-10-14: pricing pages, product pages and help centres. Nothing came from review sites, comparison articles, forums or memory. Every cell in the table links the exact page and quotes what it says in the evidence section below.

The six questions

  • Custom registration questions. Can I ask my own questions on the registration form?
  • Takes ticket payments. Can attendees pay for a ticket as they register?
  • Discount codes. Can I give some buyers a lower price with a code?
  • Waitlist. When it sells out, can people queue for a place?
  • Check-in at the door. Can my staff check people in at the door?
  • Check-in without a connection. Does door check-in keep working with no signal?

The scoring rule, applied to everyone

  • Yes — the vendor’s page says it, on the plan you would buy: 2 points.
  • Limited — only on a higher plan, or only in one region: 1 point.
  • No, or not stated on the vendor’s pages: 0 points. “Not stated” is never shown as “No”.
  • Ranked by points out of 12; ties go to the vendor that publishes its prices, then alphabetically.

WebMobi’s row comes from a stricter source than our own marketing: our feature register, which lists what is live in production. Anything not live there is scored as a gap. 8 of the 66 capability cells read “Not stated” — places where a vendor may well offer something its pages do not say.

The comparison

Score out of 12. Each cell links the vendor page it was read on, on 2026-10-14.

Vendors stating they take no fee on ticket sales: Accelevents, Swoogo and Zoho Backstage — on the plans their pages name. Most still leave you a payment processor’s fee to pay.

Which kind of platform fits which event

Free and paid public events, priced per ticket

If you run public events and want to pay nothing for free ones and a published fee for paid ones, look at the platforms whose fee cell reads “Publishes its fee on paid tickets” and whose price cell reads “Publishes prices”. Compare the fee pages on the same day, with your own average ticket price, before you decide.

Professional conferences on a licence

Conference teams often prefer a licence with no cut of each ticket. Several vendors state they take no fee on ticket sales — Accelevents, Swoogo and Zoho Backstage — and Accelevents and Swoogo publish only a starting or estimated price. Ask each for the price at your attendee numbers in writing.

When the door is the hard part

If your venue has poor signal, check the last column first. Of the platforms we read, Eventbrite, Humanitix and Ticket Tailor state on their own pages that check-in keeps working without a connection; for the others it is not stated, which means ask, not assume. Then run a no-signal rehearsal on the phones you will actually use.

Where WebMobi fits, and where it does not

WebMobi is an event app builder that includes registration, not a ticketing shop. Read its row that way: it scores fully on check-in at the door and offline check-in, and loses points on the registration-commerce questions.

  • Registration on your own event page, a QR code for every registration, people added by hand, and attendee lists imported from a spreadsheet — an import adds and updates, never deletes. See event registration.
  • Paid events link out. WebMobi does not take ticket payments: paste the link to your own ticketing page and the event’s button sends people there. WebMobi takes no share of ticket revenue.
  • Check-in by QR scan, by name and for walk-ins, on the web and in the WebMobi app, offline in the app, into individual sessions, with a History of who checked whom in on which device. See event check-in.
  • Published prices: a free plan, monthly and yearly plans, and one-event passes — on the pricing page.

What it does not do

Written down here so you find out now, not on event day.

No custom registration questions

Questions you write yourself are not part of WebMobi’s live feature set today, so they are scored as a gap. If you need dietary needs or session choices at sign-up, raise it in a demo.

No discount codes and no waitlist

Neither is part of WebMobi’s live feature set today, so both are scored as gaps.

No ticket payments

WebMobi does not take card payments for tickets today. For a paid event, link the event’s button to your own ticketing page.

No refunds or transfers in WebMobi

WebMobi has no refund or ticket-transfer step, because it takes no ticket payments.

No badge printing

Every registration gets a QR code for check-in, but WebMobi does not design or print badges.

Offline by name is iPhone-only today

Offline QR scanning works on iPhone and Android; checking people in by name offline and adding walk-ins in the app reach Android with the next Google Play update.

FAQ

What is the best event registration software in 2026?

It depends on what the registration has to do. On our six questions, Eventbrite, Humanitix and Ticket Tailor list every capability on their own pages. Which of those fits depends on how you want to pay: per paid ticket, or not at all for free events.

How did you score the platforms?

Six buyer questions, read on each vendor’s own pages on 2026-10-14. Yes scores 2, limited (a higher plan only, or one region only) scores 1, and no or not stated scores 0, for 12 at most. Ties go to the vendor that publishes its prices.

Why does a cell say “Not stated” instead of “No”?

Because we could not find it on the vendor’s own pages, and that is not the same as the vendor not offering it. Each such cell links the page we checked.

Where does WebMobi rank?

11 of 11, with 4 of 12. WebMobi has no custom registration questions, discount codes or waitlist today, and does not take ticket payments: a paid event’s button links to your own ticketing page. It scores on check-in at the door, including offline in the app.

Why are there no fee percentages in the table?

Because fees change and a wrong figure about a named company is a false claim. Each fee and price cell says whether the vendor publishes its fee or price, and links the page where it does.

Does WebMobi take a cut of ticket sales?

No. WebMobi does not process ticket payments, so it takes no share of ticket revenue. For a paid event, the event’s button sends people to your own ticketing page.

I found a mistake in a cell. What happens?

Email support@webmobi.com with the cell and the vendor page. We re-read the page and correct the cell with the new date.

Is this the same list as your event management software comparison?

No. That page compares full event management suites. This one compares the registration step: the form, payment, codes, waitlists and getting people through the door.

Shortlist on the door as well as the form.

Create a free WebMobi event and run a no-signal check-in rehearsal before you choose — or book a demo and bring your requirements list.
