WebMobi vs Whova
Established conference app — matchmaking and messaging ship as standard, but nothing is priced publicly and the app is not white-label. Feature-by-feature comparison and published pricing — and when each one is the better choice.
WebMobi advantages
- Published prices on a public page — Whova publishes none, anywhere on its site
- Your own app listing in the App Store and Play Store, under your brand — Whova states it is not a white-label app
- 0% of ticket revenue on every plan, permanently — Whova states no ticket-fee rate in either direction
- AI attendee matchmaking + networking — private beta, activated on request (book a demo or email support@webmobi.com)
Whova limitations
- No published price of any kind — /pricing is a "Price Quote Request" form asking event format, duration, attendee count and annual event frequency before any number appears
- By their own statement, "Whova is not a white-label app" — your event runs inside the shared Whova container app, with colour scheme, icon names and event logo as the customisation on offer
- Meeting Space Reservations — the table and room layer on top of the meeting scheduler — is "a new add-on feature", not part of the app
- MicroEvents, the year-round small-event module, "is an add-on to your large event standard package, and cannot be purchased separately" — a small-event-only buyer is ineligible outright
Which is right for you?
The honest answer depends on your event size, budget, and feature priorities. Here's when each wins.
- Self-serve signup — you can see a number without filling in a quote-request form first
- Public 130K-event discovery directory drives free attendee acquisition
- Attendee directory, 1:1 private messaging and a meeting scheduler all ship in the event app — "Quickly get in touch and continue conversations with any attendee by using integrated 1:1 private messaging"
- Matchmaking is generally available, not a beta: "personalized match suggestions based on shared interests, locations, affiliations and education"
- SmartProfiles pre-populate attendee profiles from registration, so "organizers and attendees do not have to manually input hundreds or thousands of pieces of information for matchmaking" — the cold-start problem that degrades most matchmaking never arises
- Meeting Space Reservations: organisers upload dozens of physical tables or rooms with an area, description and capacity, pin them on a floor map, and attendees reserve a specific space — a paid add-on
- Exhibitor lead retrieval by QR badge scan, documented as a free Lead Retrieval solution for exhibitors at an event already running Whova
- Native apps for both platforms — "native apps for Android and iOS, including smartphones and tablets"
Feature comparison
How WebMobi stacks up against Whova. ✓ = supported. ✓★ = best-in-class. — = partial / paid add-on.
| Feature | WebMobi | Whova |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing transparency WebMobi: public pricing page. Whova: quote-request form only, with no figure, range or rate anywhere on the site. whova.com/faq/who-pay-for-whova-how-much-it-cost, read 2026-09-08. | ||
| Registration & ticketing Whova's registration page claims a "Lower ticket fee than other popular event registration platforms" without stating any number. | ||
| Native mobile conference app (iOS + Android) Both ship native iOS and Android apps. Whova: "native apps for Android and iOS, including smartphones and tablets". | ||
| Custom branding & white-label Whova: "Whova is not a white-label app but enables you to customize the event main page for your branding" — colour scheme, icon names and colours, event logo. Branding yes; white-label no. | ||
| Your own app listing in the App Store / Play Store Whova states this outright rather than leaving it to be inferred: "Whova is not a white-label app". whova.com/faq/can-i-change-app-background-image-icons-fonts, read 2026-09-08. | ||
| Attendee directory + 1:1 attendee messaging Whova ships both as standard — "Click the 'Attendees' tab on the bottom of the screen to browse the attendee list", plus "integrated 1:1 private messaging". WebMobi networking is in private beta and is not enabled by default. Request activation at /contact-sales or support@webmobi.com. | ||
| AI-matched attendee networking Whova matches on attendee profile data — "shared interests, locations, affiliations and education". No vendor page claims behavioural signals or an LLM as the basis. WebMobi networking is in private beta and is not enabled by default. Request activation at /contact-sales or support@webmobi.com. | ||
| 1:1 meeting scheduling Whova: "Facilitate high value 1-1 meetings with exhibitors, mentors, recruiters, speakers, vendors and more using Whova's meeting scheduler." WebMobi networking is in private beta and is not enabled by default. Request activation at /contact-sales or support@webmobi.com. | ||
| Meeting room / table assignment Whova sells this as an add-on: organisers upload tables or rooms with capacity and a floor map and attendees reserve a specific space — "This new add-on feature is perfect for events that go the extra mile by providing dozens of tables or rooms for private meetings". WebMobi books the meeting; it does not assign the room. | ||
| Exhibitor-to-attendee matchmaking Whova: "exhibitors can use matchmaking features to find attendees with relevant interests or jobs and reach out to potential leads". WebMobi networking is in private beta and is not enabled by default. Request activation at /contact-sales or support@webmobi.com. | ||
| Lead retrieval + CRM sync WebMobi: no exhibitor lead retrieval or CRM sync in the product today (see /lead-retrieval-app); a CRM connection is scoped in an enterprise contract. Whova exhibitors "Scan QR codes on attendees' name badges"; its tutorial describes a free Lead Retrieval solution for exhibitors at an event already running Whova. | ||
| Transaction fees on paid tickets WebMobi: 0% on every plan, permanently. Whova states no ticket-fee rate — its registration page claims a "Lower ticket fee than other popular event registration platforms" without publishing a number. |

- Published prices: a free plan, subscriptions, or a pass for one event

- No annual contract needed: a one-event pass does not renew
- 0% transaction fees on paid tickets
Comparable tier
Publishes no price — quote on request
Whova publishes no price — its pricing page is a quote-request form, with no plan names, no figures and no stated free tier. Its own FAQ goes as far as "The Whova pricing depends on the size of the event and service options that event organizers wish to include."
- Both add-ons are disclosed in blog posts rather than on a pricing or feature page, so what the "standard package" contains is unknowable before a sales call
Pricing comparison is illustrative; competitor pricing is often quote-only and varies by scope. WebMobi pricing is public at webmobi.com/pricing.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Whova cost?
+
We don't know, and neither can you without contacting them. Whova publishes no price — its pricing page is a quote-request form, with no plan names, no figures and no stated free tier. The form asks for event format, duration, attendee count and annual event frequency before it shows you anything, and the FAQ says only that "The Whova pricing depends on the size of the event and service options that event organizers wish to include." No figure, no range, no per-attendee rate and no ticket-fee percentage appears anywhere on the site — checked 2026-09-08. This page used to carry a per-attendee cost argument for Whova built entirely on numbers nobody had read on a Whova page; all of it is gone. Ours is published: $19–$99/month for the subscription and $999 per event for a Professional Event, which includes your growth subscription, still running.
Can I get my own branded app with Whova?
+
No, and Whova says so directly: "Whova is not a white-label app but enables you to customize the event main page for your branding. For example, you can change the color scheme, icon names/colors/languages, event logo, etc." Your event runs inside the shared Whova container app. Whova also argues the model is obsolete, citing Apple's rules on apps generated from a commercial template. WebMobi ships an own-branded app under your identity in both stores — that is the clearest single difference between the two products.
Does Whova do AI matchmaking, and how does it compare with WebMobi's?
+
Whova ships matchmaking as standard: "Whova's matchmaking feature uses attendee profiles to suggest curated connections that truly matter… based on shared interests, locations, affiliations and education", and SmartProfiles pre-populate those profiles from registration data so the matching is not starved of input. The basis is profile data — no Whova page fetched on 2026-09-08 claims behavioural signals, stated meeting intent, or an LLM. WebMobi's attendee matchmaking is a private beta: it is off by default and is switched on per customer at /demo or support@webmobi.com. On generally-available networking, Whova is ahead of us today.
Whova has a meeting scheduler — does it assign the rooms too?
+
Only as a paid add-on. The scheduler itself is included: "Facilitate high value 1-1 meetings with exhibitors, mentors, recruiters, speakers, vendors and more." The physical layer — Meeting Space Reservations — is separate: "This new add-on feature is perfect for events that go the extra mile by providing dozens of tables or rooms for private meetings." Organisers upload tables or rooms with capacity, pin them to a floor map, and attendees reserve a space. WebMobi is behind on this one: we book the meeting, we do not assign the room.
When should we stay on Whova?
+
When networking has to be live for the next event and you cannot wait on a beta activation, and when your event is a large annual conference rather than a series of small ones. Whova's matchmaking, messaging, scheduler and exhibitor lead retrieval are all generally available. Switch to WebMobi when you want your own app listing rather than a shared container, a price you can read before a sales call, and 0% of your ticket revenue.
Where do these Whova facts come from?
+
Every Whova statement on this page is quoted from a Whova page, read on 2026-09-08. Whova is the strongest-sourced row in our audit: 19 vendor pages fetched, 12 capabilities recorded, and not one of them left unverified — its own site answers every question we asked of it, except what it costs. The full comparison, covering 35 vendors on the same 12 capabilities with the source URL and quote behind every cell, is published at /compare/event-app-networking-features. Where a vendor's site says nothing, that grid says "not stated" rather than "no" — including for us.
