The Platform Fee Problem

How Traditional Event Platforms Charge You

Eventbrite's Fee Structure (as of 2025):

  • Platform fee: 3.5% + $1.59 per ticket
  • Payment processing fee: 2.9% + $0.30 (Stripe/PayPal)
  • Total per ticket: 6.4% + $1.89

Example: 1,000 tickets at $100 each

Gross Revenue: $100,000
Eventbrite Platform Fee: $3,500 + $1,590 = $5,090 (5.09%)
Payment Processing Fee: $2,900 + $300 = $3,200 (3.2%)
Total Fees: $8,290 (8.29%)
Net Revenue: $91,710

You lose $8,290 to fees.

Other Platforms (Similar Fee Models)

| Platform | Platform Fee | Processing Fee | Total Fees (per $100 ticket) | |----------|-------------|----------------|------------------------------| | Eventbrite | 3.5% + $1.59 | 2.9% + $0.30 | $6.40 + $1.89 = $8.29 | | Ticketmaster | 10-15% | 2.5% + $0.30 | 12.5-17.5% ($12.50-$17.50) | | Hopin | 5% | 2.9% + $0.30 | 7.9% + $0.30 = $8.20 | | Universe (by Ticketmaster) | 4.5% | 2.9% + $0.30 | 7.4% + $0.30 = $7.70 | | Splash (by Bizzabo) | 2.9% | 2.9% + $0.30 | 5.8% + $0.30 = $6.10 |

Industry average: 6-8% total fees per ticket

WebMobi's Zero Fee Model

How WebMobi Charges (Spoiler: We Don't)

WebMobi Fee Structure:

  • Platform fee: 0% (none)
  • Revenue sharing: 0% (none)
  • Transaction fee: 0% (none)
  • Payment processing: none — WebMobi does not take ticket payments; your own ticketing provider charges its own fee

Example: Same 1,000 tickets at $100 each

Gross Revenue: $100,000
WebMobi Platform Fee: $0 (0%)
Payment Processing: charged by your own ticketing or payment provider, not by WebMobi

WebMobi adds $0 on top of what your ticketing provider charges — Eventbrite's platform fee alone would be $5,090.

Why Zero Fees?

Traditional model (Eventbrite, Hopin):

  • Revenue = Platform fees from ticket sales
  • Higher fees = more profit
  • Incentive to extract maximum fees

WebMobi model:

  • Revenue = a flat subscription — Free, $19–$99/month, or $49–$999 per event
  • 0% transaction fees = more attractive platform
  • Incentive to help you sell more tickets (so you stay)

We make money when you succeed, not from your ticket sales.

Ticketing Options

Option 1: Paste a Link to Your Own Ticketing

Available in: Every plan, including Free

WebMobi does not take ticket payments and does not connect to any payment gateway. For a paid event, paste the link of the ticketing or payment page you already use, and the event button sends people there. Your attendee pays you, on your provider, at its own fee. To check ticket buyers in, import the buyer list from your ticketing provider.

Option 2: RSVPs and Free Registration (All Plans)

Available in: Every plan, including Free

If you are not selling tickets at all, you don't need a ticketing provider. Registration on WebMobi itself is free: RSVPs, free registration and QR check-in work on every plan, and there is nothing for anyone to take a percentage of.

Fee Comparison

Platform Fee at Three Event Sizes

| Event Scenario | Eventbrite Platform Fee | WebMobi Fee | |----------------|-------------------------|-------------| | 1,000 tickets at $100 | $5,090 (5.09%) | $0 (0%) | | 5,000 tickets at $50 | $12,700 (5.08%) | $0 (0%) | | 10,000 tickets at $25 | $24,650 (9.86%) | $0 (0%) |

Payment processing is charged by whichever ticketing or payment provider you sell on, at its own rate, directly to you. WebMobi does not take ticket payments, so it has no processing fee to add.

Notice: Eventbrite fees are higher on low-priced tickets (fixed $1.59 per ticket hurts more).

Why 0% Is Structural, Not a Promotion

WebMobi is never in the money path. Your attendee pays you, into your own payment account, on your own provider. We are not the merchant of record for your tickets, we never hold your funds, and there is no split for us to take.

That is also why the fee does not change as you move up the plans. Free to start, then $19–$99/month. A single event can be bought on its own, $49–$999 per event. WebMobi takes 0% of your ticket revenue, on every plan, permanently.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ticketing Questions

Q: Does WebMobi connect to a payment gateway? A: No. WebMobi does not take ticket payments and has no payment-gateway integration. For a paid event, paste the link of the ticketing or payment page you already use, and the event button sends people there.

Q: How do I check in people who bought tickets elsewhere? A: Import the buyer list from your ticketing provider, and check them in on WebMobi.

Fee Questions

Q: Are there any hidden fees with WebMobi? A: No. 0% platform fees, 0% transaction fees, 0% revenue sharing. Whatever your own ticketing or payment provider charges, you pay to it directly — WebMobi adds nothing on top.

Q: Do I still get 0% on the Free plan? A: Yes. WebMobi takes 0% of your ticket revenue, on every plan, permanently. On every plan, including Free, a paid event links to your own ticketing, and only your provider's fee applies.

Q: Does WebMobi take a cut of refunds? A: No. WebMobi never handles the money, so refunds are made by your own ticketing or payment provider, under its own policy.

Payout Questions

Q: How fast do I get paid? A: On your own ticketing or payment provider's schedule — WebMobi never holds the money.
